Kamala Harris

 Kamala Devi Harris was born on October 20 1964. She is an American politician. She is also the first female vice president and the highest ranking female official in the United American. As a member of the Democratic Party, she was the former attorney general of California from 2011 to 2017 and an United States senator representing California in 2017-2021. Harris was born in Oakland. Harris received her law degree from Howard University. Her first job was in the Alameda County District Attorney's Office. Harris was later recruited to the San Francisco District Attorney's Office. In 2003 she was elected district attorney of San Francisco. She was appointed Attorney General of California in 2010, and then re-elected in 2014. Harris was the United States junior senator from California between 2017 and 2021. Harris beat Loretta Sanchez in the 2016 Senate election, becoming the 2nd African American woman and the first South Asian American to serve in the United States Senate. As senator, she was a vocal advocate for reforms to healthcare, federal de-scheduling of cannabis, a path to citizenship for immigrants who are not legal as well as the DREAM Act, a ban of assault weapons and progressive tax reform. Her name is well-known due to her direct questioning of Trump government officials during Senate hearings.
