Kyra Minturn
Kyra Minturn Sedgwick (born August 19, 1965) is an American actor, producer and director. Her starring role on the crime drama TNT The Closer as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson is her most famous. Sedgwick received the Golden Globe Award in 2007 for her portrayal of Johnson and an Emmy Award 2010 for her portrayal. The series ended after the seventh season. Sedgwick is also well-known for her part in Brooklyn Nine-Nine's sitcom Madeline Wuntch. Sedgwick was nominated to an Golden Globe award in 1995 for her performance on Something to Talk About. Sedgwick's roles in other films include Oliver Stone's Born to the Fourth of July (1989), Cameron Crowe's singles (1992) as well as Heart and Souls(93), Phenomenon (1996) as well as What's cooking (2000) as well as Secondhand Lions (2003). The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick was a New York City native, the daughter Patricia Rosenwald (nee Rosenwald) who was an educator and therapist for families and Henry Dwight Sedgwick VI, an investor in venture capital. Her mother, who was Jewish, was of English and Episcopalian origins. Sedgwick has declared that she's Jewish and participates in Passover dinners.
